Royal River Alpaca Company:Own a Suri Program

Royal River’s Own a Suri Program. Designed for those alpaca owners who have some land, not enough alpacas and want to grow their investment over time. This program offers a breeder the chance to trade boarding and husbandry services for ownership in one of our older, but yet still very productive females.

Pick a bred female from our Own a Suri Program. Take her home, take good care of her and when the cria is born he/she will be co-registered in your farm name with Royal River.
Along with your new dam, we will ask you to take 4-5 of our alpacas for 3 years of boarding and care. The ones selected are at our sole discretion, taking into account your preferences. You will be responsible for their long term boarding; including all routine husbandry and veterinary costs. If you have bred females in your care, we will arrange to pick them up 60 days prior to their due date, take care of the dam and cria, rebreed and then return the dam and cria to your farm or substitute another alpaca.
If you choose, you may rebreed your dam to one of our solely owned males, co-owned males, or leased males. The breeding fee for our solely owned males will be waved, however, there will be a $300 “chute fee”. If you choose a co-owned male (TIZO, Crown Luster or High Octane) the breeding fee will be reduced to $1000. Should you decide to breed to one of the “leased” males in our new program, your female can be bred at $500 over our group breeding rate.
In exchange for your care for three years, the dam you initially picked will be signed over to you at the end of year 3. Each cria born to that dam during the three years will also belong to you.
The annual fee to participate in the Own a Suri Program is $1000. For contracts signed in 2008, we will wave two of the three annual fees providing you with a savings of $2000.
